SAGE Scholars Community Service

In addition to internships, scholarships, mentoring, and leadership training that students receive through the program, SAGE Scholars for Scholars (SS4S) was implemented in 2001 as a student-run community service project. The main purpose of this program component is for SAGE Scholars to have the opportunity to utilize their leadership skills in the design and implementation of a service project to benefit the greater community.

SS4S is a campus organization made up of SAGE Scholars that provides mentoring and academic preparation to underprivileged students in order to help increase their knowledge of how to plan for and obtain a higher education. In order to achieve this goal, SS4S provides regular tutoring, mentoring, college preparation workshops and educational field trips to students in the AVID (Advancing Via Individual Determination) program at Estancia High School in Costa Mesa.
